The Tales of Khesh

There are many worlds of wild beauty and strange legends, where the rivers
run with magic and secrets lurk in the faintest breeze.  Earth was such a
place, at one time.  And Khesh is just one of Earth's mirrors.

It's also Keith and Carson's bedroom, so to speak.  And them being too
wrapped up in each other to even notice their surroundings, it's time to
give their world at least a little attention.

Well, sure---most of the gung-ho stuff happens in Khesh.  The Grand
Adventure, so to speak.

But other stuff happens there too.  Eerie, silly, even the mundane.  Gods
meddle in human affairs, Firehawk gets groped by a teenaged kid, and Carson
kills a few enemies before chowing down dinner.  Being Slayer of the Gods
is all in a day's work for Nightwolf. And yes---he draws a salary for
it.  Damn right he does, though maybe in a more subtle currency.

Bits of living occur between all the portentous crap. And events in yet
other windows of Khesh are more significant perhaps than any war of elf or
man.  So come and visit our scenic Land, sample the potent native
rotgut.  Beware the nosy dragons, the flesh-eating trees, and the thieving
poker-mad fiends of the far North where we begin our journey.  Maps, a
listing of Tribes, and eventual expeditions to the East and even the hated
South are planned in future.

The Tourism Board sincerely hopes you enjoy your visit, dude.  Refreshments
cheerfully provided, but bring your own sword.  It's dangerous out here in
the sticks.

Firehawk/Stormdancer Series

Part 1 which will be a 4-parter eventually.  It happens long after the main story, maybe it's even an AU.  Nightwolf's son is all grown up.  And Nightwolf's Bonded is definitely interested. In case I never mentioned it, Tribal morals are pretty casual.  And elves are total sluts.  All the Tales of Khesh are pretty much sidelights to the main story I've been driven to explore.  There is a small spoiler to the Crossover in here which I've decided to leave as is, just to torment people <g>.  If it's too puzzling, questions are always encouraged, though sometimes danced around. R Rating now, more plot than usual, but sex occurs in Part 3, trust me.

Part 2

Part 3 (NC-17)

The Dark Elf Series

Magic Carpet Ride (NC-17) What happens is, Nightwolf gets a magic rug.  No, really.  And it takes the two of them to their first meeting as it should have been; in Khesh, not in Berkeley. This is AU guys.  Still Keith and Carson, but as things were meant to be.  Enjoy.

Magic Carpet Ride--Darkelf (NC-17) This is the sequel to "Magic Carpet Ride".  I created a Dark Keith, and he kept beating on my head every time I write "Nice Keith" for W&W.  So this is his continuing story, in a different world.

Tale of The Tunes Series

Tale Of The Tunes Part I (R-for language/changeable ^^) Be warned, this is a pure chunder-fest.  All my stuff is the opposite of tightly plotted, but this one is just for fun, so a plot of any kind isn't necessary or even desirable.  Enjoy it for what it is---basic silliness, with a bit of valuable info about the nature of the weapons in Khesh.

Tale Of The Tunes Part II  Endless Possibilities (PG and only for language)

Tale Of The Tunes III PG-13  Do'nar's long-winded tale continues.  Do you believe that Firehawk has listened quietly this long?

Tale Of The Tunes IV Rating-PG Of course PG, how much action can you get from a rock?
This marks the last bit that will focus on Do'nar.  Back to Keith in the next one 8D  NEW 12/5/07!!!

Stand Alone Stories

Poker Night  (PG) Just a little Day in the Life type thingie

Walls (NC-17 ) Another slice-of-life thingy from inside Khesh.  A bit longer than a drabble, but not quite a story.  Consider it kind of a "Thanksgiving" piece, in a quirky way.  It is all about appreciating what you have, really.

The Dark Rider/Intercepted Letter  Rated R for mild violence.  Warnings: Yet another viewpoint, from a rather long-winded source.  And possibly an outside spoiler to something in the main story.  Ah well, shame on me.

Sparring  NC-17 Yes, there is sex. 8).  Shifting POV from Carson to Keith and back again.  This is not technically a side "Tale of Khesh" because it does occur in the main storyline, but! I couldn't comfortably fit it in with the framework of the story I have sketched out right now.  But I urge you to read it as an important part of W&W.  What can I say, these things come to me and mess up my "plans" constantly. Carson and Keith finally cross blades in the practice ring.  The results are not quite as either of them expected.  And don't neglect to check out the new art inspired by this piece (gloat gloat) Yummy elford!

Flirting With Firehawk R For language, mainly. This started as a pencil-sketch of Firehawk through a different person's eyes---Strangled Duck, an out-tribe warrior who takes employment with the Shadow Riders to earn back the horse he lost at poker, so he can return to the Lost River tribe.  Like most things in my wind-bag hands, it turned into its own epic. And then the Dungeon's captive artist produced a cartoon to go with the piece (thus earning an increase in coffee rations).  All in all, it was enough to tempt me to share
